As a youngster I became an obsessive reader of the works of photographers such as Adams, Weston and Strand and with a youthful energy attempted to attain a print that would ‘look’ like their work. Of course this was never actually the case as the controls and craft that I was in possession of at this young age were greatly deficient given my experience.
It did take many more years in the darkroom to fashion my methods and through many a disappointment I soldiered on with this journey which is a journey that continues to this day and I am still learning. The making of some of my photographs has proven almost transcendental which has now become my addiction and from this, the making of images has become my life sentence to which I am eternally dedicated.
